Bangkok

We left Lat Chit about 9am this morning. As we drove out of the driveway the rain started. By the time we were in Phak Hai...not even 5 mins...the heavens had opened.

It rained constantly the whole way to Bangkok...about two hours drive!
Then we sat in traffic. Bangkok is such a busy city...when we arrived last week we were sort of on the outskirts but today we needed to be in Sukhumvit Road...the main section of Bangkok.

We went to our hotel, but our room wasn't ready. So we headed off in the pouring rain to grab some lunch and do some shopping.

We ended up catching the Skytrain to National Stadium where an extremely large shopping complex called MBK is situated.

Check out Brayden's wet back from the rain in this photo!!!

We came home with plenty of bags of shopping, tired feet but had lots of fun bartering. There are times you almost feel criminal with the price you get some things for.
This photo was taken at the coffee stop.

We headed back to the hotel. Basically in a day we have gone from village life to pure luxury. We are staying at the Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21. We are on level 19 and we have a great view of the city of Bangkok. Here are some photos of our room.

And the view...

We had dinner at a restaurant on Sukhumvit Road. Brayden decided that he had had too much Thai food over the last week so he went with a hot dog and chips...I was happy with my Mai Tai and Thai food.
The meal and several drinks (including my cocktails) cost roughly $65 for the 6 of us. Crazy really!!
We finished the night off with a stroll around Terminal 21...the shopping centre where our hotel is situated...and that was just one level!!!

Looking forward to another great day in Bangkok tomorrow.
