Our Last Day in Lat Chit

Today was our last day in the village, Lat Chit. Tomorrow morning we head back to Bangkok for the final leg of our holiday.

We had a late start this morning, a huge sleep in until 8am...not bad in the heat and with the humidity!

My little washer boy did the final load of washing so we had the majority of our clothes clean ready for Bangkok!

We hung out with Arnut and Note.

Arnut is Geoff and Chalor's Grandson. He is 3 years old. He came to pick us up in Bangkok on the first day and screamed because he didn't want to get in the car with us.
Well, it has taken the week but he has connected with Brayden and can say Brayden's name, Jason has talked about Cars The Movie with him and has encouraged him to say 'Mater as in Tow-Mater' and I have tickled him and counted to 10...a zillion times!!

Note is Geoff and Chalor's nephew. He often comes around when Chalor's brother works on the farm. We have only seen him a little bit but he is very cute. Brayden gave him a stuffed Koala with an Australian flag earlier in the week and he screamed...he was scared of it. I'm not 100% sure of his age but Poi said he is 2. Today he just wanted to be around us...he is so cute...I even captured a video of him dancing :)

Both the boys were fascinated with my phone and camera today...we had heaps of fun taking photos, especially the selfies!

This is Note. He has powder on his forehead. The Thai people believe that coating yourself in powder, especially after a shower keeps you cool. I am yet to guarantee that theory!

This is Arnut. He loves trucks and diggers. So much so that every time he goes shopping he tries to con whoever he is with to buy a new car or truck or pack of them...I guess it's better than chocolate or lollies...and everything is so cheap here. Brayden bought him one a the market the other day.

We found and caught this beautiful bug. Brayden has cared for it all day and has watched it lay eggs.

I took it pretty easy and read some more of my book on the iPad. Got to get myself a hammock!

Again beautiful food...no better note to end our visit on than an absolutely beautiful chicken green curry...my favourite!!!

It will be sad to leave in the morning but we have had a wonderful experience of true Thai culture. Something that we will remember forever.

A huge thanks to Geoff, Chalor, Poi, Grandma, Si and Arnut for having us at their home.
